On a Mission !

"We are ‘On a Mission’ to be great company
for each other and for every patient, every time."

March Edition 2020

You may have noticed that Calvary is making real efforts to communicate better with you.
Communication is the way that culture grows, one conversation at a time. ‘On a Mission’ is intended to be a conversation starter.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Sunday 8th March was International Women’s Day. Women are 80% of our Calvary workforce and health care is an industry that is still mostly ‘manned’ by females.
Sadly, the caring and healing professions which ought to be the most valued are often overlooked. Mary Potter had to fight the social and religious order of her day and we know still today that the wisdom and humanity of women are often not heeded enough to our Society’s detriment. The Calvary tradition is one place where the power and purpose of working women is valued and vital!

HARMONY DAY

Saturday 21st March is Harmony Day (celebrating awareness of cultural diversity and our values of hospitality and inclusion)
There will be announcements closer about how you can participate, and it will involve eating fantastic food! Being culturally aware is a major element of the NSQHS Standard of Partnering with Consumers, and just like you our staff, our consumers – our patients and their carers – we are all increasingly culturally diverse and have lots to find out about each other. Perhaps the best way is over a shared meal.

'YOU SAID... WE DID' BANNERS

We have in production some new banners which you will soon see around our hospitals.
These banners tell consumers – our patients and their carers – about how Calvary has heard their feedback.
Free patient wifi, new wayfinding signage and no more cold toast. Remember, Calvary leaders at all levels are very keen to hear your feedback about how we can improvements too. Speak up in an Area Open Forum or send us a message.
