As 2017 winds down, I want to review just a few of the ways that ACMT is actively pursuing advocacy for the profession of medical toxicology and our membership. Through the efforts of a number of committees and individuals, as well as input from a number of members through these pesky emails and other announcements (!), we now have:
'Opioids, Toxicology, and the Law: Medical-Legal Aspects of the Opioid Epidemic,' held December 11-12 in Philadelphia, was a profound success. Experts in medicine, law, and government, presented fascinating case studies and research on today's opioid epidemic to more than 150 attendees. Presentations were recorded and will be available for sale in January (those who attended will have free access). More details to come.
