Library Upgrade

Strathfield Library will be closed from Friday 20 December for renovations and will re-open in March 2020. During this time, members will be able to borrow up to 60 items for 6 weeks using book lockers. For more information on how to access the lockers, please click the link below.

Kurralee Childcare Services

Kurralee childcare will reopen on 6 January 2020 under the new management of Lighthouse Early Learning Centre! For more information about availability, please contact 9091 9650 or visit their website. 

Council Christmas Hours

Strathfield Council will be closed from Wednesday 25 December and will re-open on Thursday 2 January 2020. Council is available 24/7 for emergencies on (02) 9748 9999.

Waste Service Hours

Council’s waste services will continue to run during this period including on Christmas Day Wednesday 25 December and New Year’s Day Wednesday 1 January. Please place your bins out the night before as collection services will commence at 4am.

Who’s Your Local Hero?

Council is accepting nominations for the Local Citizen of the Year Awards 2020! Do you know someone who selflessly gives their time and efforts to serve the Strathfield community? Nominate them today! Applications close 5pm Friday 10 January 2020.

Thank You for Sharing the Dignity!  

Thank you to those who contributed to the Share the Dignity campaign! Hundreds of bags were collected and forwarded for distribution to women experiencing homelessness and doing it tough this Christmas. Your generosity will make a difference!
