TOURISM SUN PEAKS TRADE NEWSLETTER In less than three months we will be sliding down the slopes to get the first turns of the season, but summer is far from over on the mountain. The Segways are still Segwaying, the golfers are still golfing and the September Bonus Weekends are in full swing. The Sunburst Chairlift continues to spin for four extra weekends, giving guests more time to explore the lift-access alpine hiking trails and Sun Peaks Bike Park. Guests will also continue enjoying live music in the village, (Saturdays & Sundays), and the opportunity to shop local produce and artisan fare at Market Day, every Sunday. As we move into autumn, we celebrate the return of the Fall Festival, and the 2nd Annual Sun Peaks Cider Fest (Sept 28), welcoming over fifteen BC cideries and craft breweries. Other Fall Festival events include the Classic Car Show ‘n’ Shine, a pie eating contest, the President’s Choice SuperDogs show and live music. This fall you can catch the Market Development team at Canada West Marketplace in Richmond, World Travel Market in London, USA-Canada Experience in the Netherlands and the Toronto Ski Show. We hope to see you soon but feel free to reach out to us at anytime. Cheers, Megan NEW! CRYSTAL CHAIRLIFT FOR 2020/21 SEASON Following significant infrastructure improvements in recent years, Sun Peaks is pleased to announce replacement plans for the Crystal chairlift. The new lift will be a Doppelmayr fixed grip quad that will increase uphill capacity by 20%. A key feature of the project is a lift realignment that will see the top terminal relocated to the Top of the World on Mt. Tod, providing enhanced and more convenient access to a much larger pod of ski terrain at this slightly higher elevation.
