Council Closure and Operations

Strathfield Council will be closed from Tuesday 25 December and will re-open on Tuesday 1 January. Council is contactable for emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on (02) 9748 9999.

Council’s waste services will continue to run during this period including on Christmas Day Wednesday 25 December and New Year’s Day Tuesday 1 January. Please place bins out the night before as collection services will commence at 4am.

Citizen of the Year Awards

Council is proud to announce the inclusion of a third category this year, Strathfield Environmental Citizen of the Year. Nomination forms are available until Friday 11 January 2019.

Dignity, it’s in the Bag!

Thank you to those who participated in the Share the Dignity campaign! 170 bags were collected and forwarded for distribution to women experiencing homelessness and doing it tough this Christmas. Your generosity will brighten their smile and show someone cares!

Mayor’s Annual Toy Drive 

Make a difference for children who are disadvantaged in our community. Gift a new toy to a child this Christmas and brighten up their smile. Donations are accepted at various collection points around the Strathfield LGA from Saturday 1 December through to Wednesday 19 December.

Australia Day Is Coming Up!

Save the date for an important community event celebrating our newest Australian citizens and recognising outstanding individuals who contribute to the community. Event will include a free sausage sizzle, reptile display, face painting, jumping castle and more!

Don’t Get into Double Trouble!

Stay safe on the road! Double Demerits will apply over the holiday period from Friday 21 December to Tuesday 1 January 2019 for offences such as speeding, illegal use of mobile phones, not wearing a seatbelt and riding without a helmet.
