Late CollectionsDue to the increased amount of late collections after school, and the negative impact this is having on our students and staff, we will be introducing a late fee that will be applied to your Parent Pay account from Monday 19th September. Please see this letter for further details. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1m71kAo5MJ9qZb-FEEYXaQ6gvQMOufH3z/view?usp=sharing*Reception BikesPlease can parents ensure your children are not riding the Reception bikes before and after school. These bikes are a learning
resource specifically designed for Reception aged students to learn coordination and gross motor skills. These are very expensive resources which we would not be able to replace if damage was done to them due to older/heavier children riding them. We thank you in advance for your support in this.
ReminderPlease do not allow your child to bring toys or games to school, as this can lead to items being lost or damaged and students getting upset.
Mrs Drummond's ChallengeWell done to all the students who took part in our half term reading challenge! It was great to see so many books being read by you all! This week's challenge will need a table to organise your answers - and remember they only eat ODD numbers! Good luck!
Please give your answers in next Monday, 9th March
School SecurityTo help ensure the security of our school site, the main primary gates will be closed and locked promptly at 3:30pm each day. Please make sure you have collected your scooter and made your way off site before this time.

World Book Day This year's theme is 'Share a story' so if you would like to dress up on Thursday 5th March, we are encouraging you to select your favourite character from a story and dress as them - bring the book along with you so you can 'share the story' of your character! We cannot wait to celebrate World Book Day as a community! Please dress as a character
that inspires you from a book. It would be great if you could bring the book into school to share the story with your friends! We will be exploring picture books at school and completing an array of different activities to deepen our love of reading.
History Week Tuesday 17th March: History Timeline DayEach class will explore a different era of history, creating a large piece of art to represent this era and present to the rest of the school at the end of the day. We will turn these into a whole school history timeline to permanently display in the hall. Children are encouraged to dress up in clothes suitable to the era they're exploring!Tuesday 17th March 3:15pm - 3:45pm : Artefact WorkshopWhat can we learn about the past through objects? Come and have a hands on experience handling artefacts, thinking about what they might have been used for and what they can tell us about the past. Wednesday 18th March: Artefact WorkshopsYear 1 - 4 will take part in artefact workshops getting hands on with objects from the past. They will explore what questions you can ask about artefacts to help us discover what the past was like.
Spare ClothesIf your child has borrowed any clothes from our spare clothes box please bring them back as soon as possible as we have very little left. (eg if they have wet themselves)If you have any trousers, skirts or tights that you could donate that would be wonderful. Also if you would like to donate new children’s underwear that would be amazing.
Making Equal Groups and Pairs in ReceptionThis week, we have been learning about equal and unequal groups in Maths. We have learned that equal groups have the same amount of things in them, and unequal groups do not have the same amount of things in them. We have practiced counting how many groups, how many things in each group, and
adding to count how many things there are altogether. We played many games to practice this in each class! We also learned about pairs, and that a pair is two of the same objects. We used cuddly toys with feet to see how many pairs of socks each animal needed, then designed our own pair of socks.
Back to the Stone Age!This week in project we have been looking at the different types of food that were available in Stone Age and how it was eaten. We found it funny that they couldn’t just go to the supermarket to buy their meat and veg. We transformed into cave men and women and had the tiring job of hunting and gathering our
meal.
How can we give Advice? This week in Year 2 we have continued reading 'The Lion and the Unicorn.' We were shocked to discover that Lenny, the evacuee, has been bullied at school. We have spent the week writing a piece of advice for children who are being bullied or who see bullying. On Monday we explored different actions and decided whether
they were examples of people being accidentally unkind or examples of people bullying. It gave us a lot to think about and we then thought about what children should do if this happens to them.
Tick-Tock Year 4 have been exploring the 12 hour and 24 hour clock. They have been converting between different units of time. We have solved problems in multiple formats that require a strong understanding of time. We particularly enjoyed playing a game where we had to convert minutes to hours and vice versa. As an extra challenge we had
to consider how many minutes until the next hour.
