Why is Saturn's icy moon, Enceladus in the news this week?  - More building blocks of life discovered

As we've mentioned in previous newsletters, image stabilising binoculars use compact electronic gizmos to almost totally remove the natural hand shakes that can sometimes blur your view and make it harder to observe for extended periods of time.

This is especially the case when using the higher magnifications needed for seeing the finer details of distant objects.  A bonus of image stabilising binoculars is that when you're not concentrating on keeping your binoculars steady, your mind is free to take in the entire image that's presented to it, resulting in what appears to you as a wider, more expansive view.

The Coronado PST Solar Telescope is now in stock at BINTEL for $1299

This compact telescope is designed to look at the Sun in a very narrow wavelength of light, revealing features we can't see in other telescopes even with Solar filters.  In this "hydrogen-alpha (Ha)" light you'll see disturbances in the solar atmosphere called flares and the dramatic streamers known as prominences that shoot out from the Sun's edge as well as the granularity and mottling of the Sun's visible surface - and more!

You can mount the Coronado on a standard photographic tripod or a specialised Solar tracking mount like the Sky-Watcher HelioFind Mount that automatically locates the Sun and tracks it for extended viewing.

Saturn's icy moon, Enceladus, has been in the news this week!

Further analysis of particles ejected from plumes escaping between cracks in its icy surfaces have been found to contain phosphorous. This means all the key building blocks for life have now been found there. 

Has life has been discovered on Enceladus? Not in the slightest - but it's become an even more tantalising place to search for it.
