THEMES ![]() Plenary Speakers ![]() Dr. Sheyna Gifford (MD, MSc, MA) was the health and safety officer on NASA's HI-SEAS IV 1-year Mars simulation mission. She was also an officer on an asteroid simulation mission. During her mission, exercises in field emergencies as well as indoor training of the crew were conducted. Dr. Gifford has spoken about the value of training simulations worldwide.. She is currently the Scientist-In-Residence at the St. Louis Science Center. ![]() Dr David Gaba is the inventor of the modern full body patient simulator. He has worked extensively on human performance and in the field of patient safety. He is responsible for adapting crew resource management training from aviation to healthcare. He is founding editor of the SSH journal. He will share his expertise on crisis resource management and debriefing with delegates at the conference. ![]() Kristian Thomas is a British Olympian and gymnast Kristian Thomas shot to fame back in 2012 after winning a team gold medal at the European Championships. A long standing member of both the England and Great British teams, Kristian talks about mental modelling and performing at the highest levels. He is an inspirational athlete who will be talking on maintaining peak performance when the stakes are highest. |
