The choice is yours... We have a choice. Truly we have infinite choices. But I'm talking in a more broad sense. Everyday is a new day, and you have a choice. Are you going to be the same person you were yesterday? Or are you going make the choice to be better today? You have the choice to wake up today, get out of bed, hop in the shower, brush your teeth, brew your coffee, eat your toast, go to work, run, come home, eat, watch the news, go to bed, repeat. Certainly none of those are terrible life choices, unless like me brewing your coffee results in eight k-cups mysteriously disappearing throughout the day ;) But what if you made a conscious effort to make one decision each day to better yourself. Heck, some days that might actually mean skipping a run. Now we're talking crazy talk. I'm certainly no wizard of life improvement. And I need reminders. Writing this is serving as that right now. There will certainly be days where making a change just isn't in the cards. But, to wake up each day with that goal in mind... change will happen! Yesterday, Tim and I were talking about any myriad of topics. We had no grand agenda. I walked into his office and we just started talking. The way we do almost everyday. We talked about race club. We talked about summer races. We talked about staying in transparent pods along sheer cliffs in the mountains of Peru because, why not?! We'd circle back to topics like we always do because at times our focus is about a good of that of a squirrel. Like many of our conversations we got amped up. We start talking about ways in which we can change the world, our little corner of it anyway. Eventually our conversation ended, and I was ready to go! My day went on, and all I could think about were little, perhaps unnoticeable changes when viewed separately. After putting Harper down to bed last night I set out to put all the ideas down on paper, which led to building websites, designing swag, submitting permits. Before I knew it it was midnight...thus why you are just now getting this e-mail ;) Change is coming. I'm stoked. I will undoubtedly be distracted for the next several days as I forge ahead to finalize plans. But that's when I operate best. Doing new, exciting things. Making choices that will redefine our landscape. You had a similar experience when you first made the decision to train for a marathon. You likely had many stops and starts in your conversations with friends, family, and inner monologue. But there came a point were you peered over the precipice. The choice was right in front of you. All you had to do was take one more step, and you were off and running. It may have seemed inconsequential at the time, but you are slowly discovering how amazing that choice was. There are no limitations. Only choices. You have more big fish to fry. Never stop believing that. Dream big. Live bigger. Always be on the lookout for a door to open. When that door opens, will you go through it? See you at the next workout! Jeff Quick Updates, Notes & Reminders Don't forget to mark your calendars for all of our upcoming clinics! Step forward with the right then the left to standing. Sounds simple- add some dumbbells to make it harder. Do 10 on each side. To bring the intensity down, keep arms by your side or use a table to assist you during this movement. Add some squats or lunges to round out the set! Repeat 3x. Try out the AlterG.
