The National Law Enforcement Challenge (NLEC) is a friendly traffic safety competition among law enforcement agencies. This program is supported through a cooperative agreement between the IACP and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and it is held in partnership with the National Sheriffs' Association (NSA), the Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA), and the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA).

MILLIONS IN CONTRABAND RECOVERED WITH NO PURSUIT

A K9 officer identified a stolen vehicle and suspected drug load. StarChase was deployed and used to track the suspects without engaging in a pursuit. The suspects were safely apprehended, the stolen vehicle was recovered and 1,920 LBS of contraband was recovered. Zero injuries, zero deaths and no property damage.

StarChase assists Southwest agency with getting an estimated $10 million in illegal drugs safely off the street.

STOLEN VEHICLE TAG WITH AIR SUPPORT

A Texas officer identified a stolen vehicle, deployed StarChase and tracked the vehicle with local dispatch and sheriff’s office with additional air and K-9 support. The suspects were safely apprehended, the stolen vehicle was recovered and drugs and a pistol were seized. The suspect had ties to local robberies and auto thefts. Zero injuries, zero deaths and no property damage.

PRAY FOR POLICE CAMPAIGN

In an effort to help the Houston Police Officer's Union, HPD Chaplaincy and deputies across the country, StarChase distributed 1,500 free "Pray for Police" wristbands in Virginia Beach. The campaign started to show support for Deputy Darren Goforth who was murdered last month.
