Latest News Portrush Station Progress The £5.6m Portrush Station project has taken another major step forward with the removal of what’s been a notable, albeit temporary, feature. The scaffolding and encapsulation, which has adorned the structure during the last few weeks, has now been removed as work on the structure progresses. The new station will not only serve the increasing numbers visiting the North Coast but will also help regenerate the area around one of the main gateways into this popular seaside town. Portrush Revitalised and ‘Open’ for Business The Revitalise scheme, which will enhance the visual appearance of business properties, is helping to transform Portrush as the town gets ready for The 148th Open. Tamar Brunton, Operations Manager, Portrush Boutique Townhouse Hostel, Bath Street - one property to have benefited from the Revitalise scheme. Over 120 business are in the process of improving their buildings with a range of measures including fresh painting and new signage to enhance the unique character and streetscape of the seaside resort. On completion, the total investment, funded by the Department for Communities (DfC) and delivered by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, will be around £460k.
Dunluce Avenue Car Park Opens Ahead of Schedule The Dunluce Avenue Car Park reopened on Friday 15 March following a significant upgrade. The improvement work, carried out by Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, has largely finished ahead of schedule with only some minor works still to do. The scheme has also been completed under budget. Alongside increased overall capacity, motorists will benefit from a range of safety improvements at the site and the provision of additional Disability Discrimination Act compliant spaces.
