The Bushfire Crisis: Philanthropy's Responsibility

We welcome everyone back from a holiday period that was difficult for all and devastating for many. To help you contribute to the ongoing bushfire support effort, we have compiled a list of organisations, funds and appeals that members and supporters may wish to consider giving to during this critical time of immediate response.

The philanthropic community has a significant role to play in providing this short-term relief. Beyond that, we also have a unique opportunity to tackle the escalating frequency and ferocity of bushfires by driving long-term advocacy, resilience-building and critical, complex sustainable system change.

A leading voice in this conversation is the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR). In our blog this week, FRRR CEO, Natalie Egleton, highlights the importance of taking a longer-term approach to rebuilding our devasted communities on their own terms.
