REpower reborn

When Suzlon Group, one of the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturers, acquired REpower Systems SE in 2009, a German wind turbine company praised for its engineering excellence, the latter entity required a new name. Based on a rigorous name creation and selection process, REpower was reborn as Senvion SE in January 2014.

 
 
 
 
 
 

A new name for a new beginning

An active, sonorous word, the name Senvion is composed of the following elements: S for sustainability, EN for energy, VI for vision, and ON for being switched on. Senvion prides itself in championing the vision and cause of sustainable energy to create a lasting and harmonious environment, and this philosophy is best reflected in its name.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Where the customer comes first

The Senvion “i,” subtly rendered as the numeral “1,” captures Senvion’s belief in always putting customers and partners first—a belief at the core of Senvion’s aspiration to be a leader in sustainable solutions. The colours of the identity are a nod to the Suzlon Group, the parent company, and to former avatar REpower Systems SE. Suzlon’s original green, signaling a greener planet, sits seamlessly with REpower Systems SE’s native blue, the color found in its brandline Wind energy solutions, symbolic of its legacy of technical prowess.

 
 
 

A call to action

Viewed in its entirety, the name Senvion is a renewed call to action for providing sustainable energy to the world of tomorrow. In the words of Andreas Nauen, CEO of Senvion SE: “Our more than 3,300 employees around the world work energetically and enthusiastically to find the best solution for every project. Our customers and business partners can sense that with us they will always come first. This claim is emphasised by the figure “1” in our logo. As Senvion, we will continue along our path as a strong and innovative brand in the wind energy industry.”
