White Ribbon Day
Strathfield Council is supporting White Ribbon Day! Join us as we gather together as a community dedicated to an end to violence against women and create a safer community for everyone. The event will consist of pledge signing, information stalls, a photo booth and a rap/lyric competition.
When: Friday 23 November, 2pm-6pm

Let the Jingle Bells Rock!
Get ready for Strathfield’s biggest Christmas event yet! This year we are celebrating carols at the official opening of Bressington Park and you are invited to join us for an action-packed day! The event will feature an opening ceremony of Bressington Park, a family picnic, children’s entertainment, Christmas performances, a special movie screening of Elf and magical fireworks display!
When: Saturday 8 December from 2pm

Weddings at Wallis Reserve
Looking for a hassle free wedding venue? Featuring a beautiful Rose Garden, an amphitheatre style ceremony space, timber awning, ample parking and open green space, the newly restored Wallis Reserve is the perfect location for your wedding ceremony. Contact Strathfield Council for more information.
Donate a Bag and Share the Dignity
Share love and kindness for women experiencing homelessness, domestic violence and poverty by taking part in It’s in the Bag campaign. Fill a handbag with feminine care and hygiene products to brighten up her smile. Bags can be dropped off at Strathfield Council Customer Service and Strathfield Library until Monday 3 December 2018.
Dutton Centre
Council recently sought feedback from the community regarding a proposal to add a junior sports training facility at the Dutton Centre. Based on feedback received, Councillors have decided not to proceed with the project. Thank you for submitting your feedback regarding this matter.
Movies in the Park This Weekend
Black Panther will be screening at Movies in the Park this Saturday! T’Challa takes his rightful place as King of Wakanda after the death of his Father. When a powerful enemy reappears to challenge T’Challa, he must find a way to use his full power of Black Panther to save his Kingdom!

Do you think you can decorate? Council’s Christmas Light Competition is now open with prizes awarded to the top 3 entrants! Get into the Christmas spirit and submit your application by 5.00pm on Friday 14 December 2018.
Be Part of Neighbour Day 2019!
Neighbour Day is Australia’s annual celebration of community that encourages people to connect with their neighbours. Organised by Relationships Australia, residents are encouraged to reach out to vulnerable and lonely members of their community by hosting an event, sharing a cuppa, a picnic in the park or a message of support. Register your Neighbour Day event and start connecting!
Responsible Café Milestone
The Strathfield Responsible Cafés program has leapt to a 12 café milestone in the campaign to reduce coffee cup litter and waste. Claim your takeaway coffee discount at cafés like The Smelly Cheesecake, pictured, by bringing a re-usable cup!
Throwback Thursday
Wallis Reserve
Named after Frederick Wallis, Mayor of Strathfield (1923-24), Wallis Reserve was constructed in 1960 with rose gardens and a sundial for commemoration of the 75th anniversary of Strathfield Council.
Wallis Reserve recently underwent extensive restoration to return it to its original glory, and is now available for wedding ceremonies.

Election Table Talks for Women
Join the Women's Electoral Lobby for free voter education sessions for women! Their Election Table Talk aims to empower women to become informed about political, economic and legal issues by providing voter education to women and raising awareness on how women can build relationships with their local MP.
