Contact FSCcommunications@fscluster.org Welcome to Martina IannizzottoMartina an Italian national from Sicily, joined the global Food Security Cluster support team as Programme and Policy Officer. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Rome and Master in Development economics from the University of Ferrara. She has developed twenty years of experience in the humanitarian sector, having worked for non-governmental organizations in Serbia, Kosovo, the Occupied Palestinian Territory and for WFP in Lebanon, in South Turkey for the Syria crisis, Bangladesh and Colombia. She worked as Food Security Cluster coordinator for the Rohingya response in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh and for the Syria crisis in South Turkey, gaining first-hand knowledge of humanitarian coordination. Her background includes experience in programme, where she managed projects in the fields of food security, livelihoods, cash-based-transfers and emergency response. In 2015-2017, she served for WFP as Head of Sub-office for Beirut, in Lebanon for the Syrian refugee crisis and in 2021-2022 as Venezuelan Migration crisis response coordinator in Colombia. She speaks English and Spanish fluently, and in her free time she enjoys outdoor activities in the nature, such as hiking and swimming.
