Microplastics and other man-made fibres have been found in a popular fish species on the Great Barrier Reef.

Great Barrier Reef spawning research begins in SeaSim

Long nights and dedicated scientists; the first of the annual Great Barrier Reef synchronised spawning events took place in late October in our National Sea Simulator.

COLLABORATION - North West Shoals to Shore Research Program

Informing the sustainable development of Australia's north-west marine estate

The North West Shoals to Shore Research Program is one year in to its three year, $20 million study of Australia's North West Shelf.

Led by AIMS, the project brings together scientists, technical staff and industry experts focused on four main themes: marine noise; benthic habitats and demersal biodiversity; iconic and threatened species; and spatial dynamics of isolated reef atolls.
