July 2022

We have some exciting news! Parramatta Library is preparing to move to our new home. We look forward to welcoming you to our new state of the art Library, Customer Service Centre, and History and Visitor Information Centre at PHIVE, 5 Parramatta Square in Spring 2022.

Pulitzer Prize winner and Librarian, Archibald MacLeish once said  'What is more important in a library than anything else – than everything else – is the fact that it exists.'

Happy reading!

Book Review

Something for the Pain by Gerald Murnane
A rare treat: a book about horse racing that will appeal to the general reader. Gerald Murnane is a writing craftsman and this book focuses on his close involvement with horse racing in Melbourne and Victoria in the 1950s and 60s. It also chronicles his life simultaneously.
Rated 10/10 by Book Club member Neil.
