RSVP Now! Dancers' Career Development invites you to a performance by DCD Contributing Company, English National Ballet, at Sadler's Wells Theatre

Wednesday 9th September 2015

Please join us for this special evening to celebrate Dancers' Career Development's decades of providing career transition services to all UK-based dancers and introduce DCD's new Chair, Zoë van Zwanenberg.

Your ticket will include a programme, drinks, canapés and bowl food and a top-priced stalls seat for ENB's award winning triple bill Lest We Forget plus a chance to meet some of DCD's supported dancers before and after the performance.

Spotlight 10k Challenge

We need you to join Team DCD for the Spotlight 10k Challenge!

With just over two months to go, there's still time to join Team DCD to raise money for Dancers' Career Development at the Spotlight 10k Challenge on Sunday 13th September 2015 at Regents Park, London. Visit the Spotlight 10k Challenge website.

We need you to join Team DCD to help raise money for dancers across the UK. Complete our online sign up form now. Team members include Jennifer Curry, DCD Executive Director, our volunteer Rebecca Delgado, and Scottish Ballet's Chief Executive / Artistic Director, Christopher Hampson.

Clore Leadership Programme Dance Fellow 2015-16: Ben Wright

The Clore Leadership Programme has announced the exceptional
individuals who have been awarded 2015/16 Fellowships on the programme, including Ben Wright, who will undertake the Dance Fellowship supported by Dancers' Career Development and The Linbury Trust.

Ben is an independent choreographer and director working in contemporary dance, opera and theatre. He is also currently Associate Artistic Director of Skanes Dansteater, Sweden’s largest independent
dance company. Ben trained at the Rambert School and directs his own ensemble Ben Wright/ bgroup. 

As a dancer he performed with Adventures in Motion Pictures, London Contemporary Dance
Theatre and Richard Alston Dance Company.

Josephine Darvill-Mills

The Tony Dyson Bursary - Josephine Darvill-Mills: For Reading Medicine

Josephine studied at The Royal Ballet School and London Studio Centre before embarking a contemporary dance career during which she performed at Sadler's Wells and across Europe.

I am so grateful to DCD for awarding me the Tony Dyson Bursary. It will give me a huge head start as I begin my retraining in medicine and will help me to fulfill my dream of becoming a doctor.

The Tony Dyson Bursary is named after DCD's former chairman.

 
 
Francesca Reynolds

The Sir Cameron Mackintosh Bursary -Francesca Reynolds:
For Dance Teaching

Francesca studied at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, graduating in 1991. Credits include Starlight Express; Sunset Boulevard and Oh! What A Night.

I am delighted to be awarded the Cameron Mackintosh Bursary. As a single mum with very little outside help, I wondered how I could ever afford to take my teaching to the next level, but then I heard about DCD and the amazing work it does in supporting dancers.

 
 
Godiva Marshall

The Matthew Winsten Bursary -Godiva Marshall: For Actor Training

Godiva has performed in The Lion King on London's West End as well as with Phoenix Dance Theatre in a diverse career spanning 20 years.

I am honoured to have been awarded the Matthew Winsten Bursary. It will allow me to gain the practical skills and knowledge to succeed in an area of the performing arts that I have always been very passionate about.

Support a professional dancer to navigate career transition through the boundless appeal.

Help us to raise £6,000 to provide two Financial Retraining Grants, allowing professional dancers to expand upon their unique skills and strengths and gain additional experience and expertise in the career field of their choice.
