Click here ALUMNI LAUNCH NEWSA quarterly newsletter for de Paul alumni & parents - Scholarship Opportunity for Students with DyslexiaEmbracing Kate’s Way, a local nonprofit that works to increase awareness of dyslexia and provide assistance to families with dyslexic children, will be giving out scholarships this spring. The scholarship is available to anyone with dyslexia who will be graduating high school in the spring of 2017 and is planning on furthering his or her education – with college or a trade school. The deadline is April 15, 2017 and the application can be found here! Last spring, de Paul alum Lydia Taylor (12’) was selected for an Embracing Kate’s Way Scholarship. Lydia is a freshman at Bellarmine University and studying business. Congratulations Lydia! Building 2 Updates - Your Campus TodayOn Sunday, November 13, 2016, The de Paul School experienced a small fire on the 3rd floor of Building 2. Fortunately, no one was on campus at the time or hurt, but the smoke and water damage were considerable. After closing classes for 2 days, de Paul reopened on November 15 and under-went a complete restoration of Building 2. Thank you to everyone who has shared your support; please know that de Paul’s faculty and students displayed incredible resilience and got right back to teaching and learning! What Success LOOKS Like - de Paul Alumni on the MoveKirsten Davenport (08’) graduated from Miami of Ohio with a Bachelors in Communications last spring. She is following her dreams and now living in Chicago, IL as an “Event Producer” for “Food for Thought” where she plans major events for thousands of people. Aaron Robison (03’) married Megan Gardiner on January 17, 2017. Alex Moak (06’) last spring completed a Master’s in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University and completed an internship with WKU. Melissa Fugate (86’) is the Manager of the Infection Prevention and Control Department for Baptist Health Louisville. Last summer she completed a Masters in Nursing Administration from Bellarmine University. Jesse Schmitt (06’) – UPDATE – Since the last “Alumni Launch News” Jesse has signed with the NFL’s New Orleans Saints as a long snapper.
