The Waterlow Hall Campaign Update
for supporters, helpers, and all those who have expressed an interest in the project
It is very good to see the 2nd stage of the Waterlow Hall works underway. At the end of the summer term I was able to ‘step into’ the transformed hall thanks to the magic of the Virtual Reality model and I think everyone who saw this was as excited as I am by the potential for this project. We are making steady progress with the fundraising for the final stage and I am particularly pleased to see that support has come from all areas of the South Hampstead community - our current parents have been very generous but donations have also been made by former staff and parents, governors and our alumnae. I want to thank everyone who has given and offered their time and expertise
to this campaign. As you will see below, we have a whole range of people who are busy planning events, fundraising initiatives and giving up their time and energy to help us. Thank you all so much.

Fundraising Update- 30% of Target Raised
£930,000 has been pledged and donated towards our £3 million target so far.
- Leavers' Campaign 2018
Over £10,000 was funded by parents of our 2018 leavers who chose to waive their original registration deposit and donate it to the project. Names of those who contributed in this way will be recorded on our 'map of stars'.
- Name a seat
In 2014 through the Futures Fund, we offered 'naming of seats'. 14 people have already taken up this opportunity but we will have 244 retractable seats available for naming. These will be offered when the public campaign gets underway, but If you want to reserve your seat now contact us.
- Thank you #WaterlowHero
So many people have already helped us but particular thanks this month go to Alex Wrigglesworth who generated artwork at speed and without fuss for our display materials.
Donations can be made through bank transfer, cheque, direct debit (via your bill), standing order or online and if you are eligible for Gift AId we can claim an addition 25% on your donation. To get a donation form email Development .

Campaign CommitteeParents, staff and pupils who have volunteered to help with fundraising during the public stage of the campaign. We held the first committee meeting at the end of the summer term and members have already been busy on a range of projects: The virtual reality model: Jessica Learmond-Criqui has overseen the development of this and the first showing was at the Junior School. More than 100 people got a chance to see what a redeveloped hall might look like and we hope to show senior school
pupils in the autumn. The campaign film: After several filming sessions before the end of term, Amy Gelber has been locked in an editing suite over the summer piecing together a film about the project and fundraising. Huge thanks are already due to Dylan Luke (Brother of Iona) who has done an enormous amount of technical work putting this together and look out for the finished product at the start of next term. Finale Fundraiser: The search is on for a great venue for a finale fundraising event. We have a tentative date of 14th November 2019 for this. If you have ideas for or can help us find a venue then please contact us. Silent and public auction: We are looking for volunteers to help us put together a fundraising auction. We need people to find suitable lots, write inviting copy and set up and manage an auction website. If you can help, do get in contact.

Towards and beyond our 150th anniversaryThe Waterlow Hall development marks the completion of our 10 year plan to transform the senior school but it is also the start of the new strategic plan for the school over the next 8 years as we prepare for our 150th Anniversary in 2026. The plans will incorporate our key ambitions in three areas: - Capital developments
- Breadth and accessibility
- Community and leadership
At the start of school year, we will be sharing this plan with you as we look towards and beyond our 150th Anniversary in 2026.
