Ford Motor Factory

The below ‘then’ image shows the Ford Motor Company factory at Homebush on Parramatta Road. The Factory operated from 1936 – 1994 and was a large local employer, with 1,200 workers at its peak and operating 24 hours a day. Many homes in the adjacent Telopea Avenue were built by Ford for their employees.

Although the building now houses the Campus Homebush Business Park, the original façade remains intact. The adjacent satellite image below is current and shows the difference in the landscape around the factory.
