Click here 15 March 2018Synthetic Field OpeningCouncil is joining forces with Strathfield Football Club for an official opening of the new synthetic field at Strathfield Park! Mark the beginning of the soccer season with soccer games for kids, a BBQ and an opportunity to meet Sydney FC players. Following the opening, the Strathfield Strikers FC will play a feature match. When: Sat 17 March, 10am - 12.30pm Everyone’s invited to Harmony Day!Cultures combine in this celebration of the many communities who come from across the globe to call Strathfield home! There’s something for everyone with activities, performances and food inspired by our local communities including Korean, Indian, Chinese and more. When: Sat 24 March, 10am - 3pm Movies in the ParkHead to Movies in the Park this weekend and join Saroo in Lion [PG], on his journey back home as he is guided by only a handful of memories, his unwavering determination and Google Earth. When: Sat 17 March, sunset International Women’s DayCouncil hosted local residents, business women, community groups and leaders to celebrate International Women’s Day on 8 March. The morning tea featured speeches by two extraordinary women, Fiona Lang and Ramia Sultan. The event was a great success with many guests expressing their inspiration for a better tomorrow for women everywhere. Fixing FootpathsOur Works team have coordinated the restoration of dangerous footpaths in Strathfield to help maintain safety within our LGA. Have you seen paths that need updating? Contact Council to advise of any roads, footpaths or kerbs that need repair. Harmony Day Poster ExhibitionDrop by High Street Library tonight for the opening night of the Harmony Day Poster Exhibition, featuring artworks by local students depicting what multiculturalism means to them. Throwback ThursdayTuxedoTuxedo is a prime example of the great houses built in Albert Road Strathfield in the late 19th century by prominent and wealthy mercantile figures.
