Executive Headteacher: Mr Peter Hyman Primary NewsletterDates for your Diary Rockin' Rocket!Year 3 have been making our first drafts of our own rocket designs. We will test these, then improve them ready for our end of project rocket launch in two weeks! A Day Full of Fun!This week in Reception, we have been learning how to measure in different ways. In order to learn about capacity, we used oats to make our own chunky playdough! We had to work together to fill the cups correctly and used language such as 'full' , 'empty', 'nearly full' etc. to describe them. It was a lot of fun and better yet, we got to play with the play dough after! Last week's Stars of the WeekAlicia, April, Rafael, Nyny, Bryan, Aleena, Ruaibah, Musa, Theo, Hiya, Prince, Jasleen, Marcel and Muhammad-Adam. *We didn't forget, but there was a slight technical error that meant we couldn't add this to the last newsletter - Tunde Help stop hunger by donating to a foodbank.December is the busiest month for foodbanks, with 45% more referrals from Citizens Advice and other organisations. To help, you can take part in a 'reverse advent calendar' by donating an item to a foodbank every day in the run-up to Christmas. You could also collect others' foodbank donations at Tesco stores UK-wide from Thu 30 Nov to Sat 2 Dec. Light the LampThis week in Year 1 we have been working extremely hard redrafting circuits and designs for our night lamps! We have had to work in our trios and come to a shared agreement on the different changes - some of us found this really hard at the beginning! Also, we have been lucky enough to have the amazing Year 5’s share their knowledge and critique our work. We all think our night lamps are going to be AMAZING!! Pentathlon ChallengeThis week, Brandon, Emilia, Madison, Trelawny, Ethan and Jessiah went to Newham Leisure Centre to take part in a pentathlon challenge. They took part in many activities, including basketball, football, volleyball, parachute popcorn and relay races. Their efforts were rewarded with a Medal each! Well done team! Christmas Jumper Day Is Coming!!The nights are drawing darker, the lights are slowly appearing in shop windows, cups in our favourite places are becoming more festive and there are only 24 sleeps until the actual day.... which can only mean one thing...
