What is a "Short Bolt" sale?
Each summer, we contract with QT Fabrics to supply us with hundreds and hundreds of "short" bolts of fabric. This means that most bolts hold 5 yards of fabric or less.
Historically, this was a great way to the QT warehouse to offload their smaller bolts from the ends of fabric runs that would be too small to send to shops in a new fabric order. It was a win-win-win: they had a way to sell their short bolts, we got to offer them to you, and you got first-run bolted yardage at a terrific price!
Now that QT has switched to 100% digital printing, they can more closely estimate their demand and create smaller runs of fabric that finish more precisely with more full bolts.
We are very lucky, because the fine folks at QT Fabrics have agreed to "manufacture" short bolts just for our sale! We have been told that this year's sale will even include many 1-2 yard bolts, as well as brand new fabrics that may not have been shipped to shops yet! We are expecting 4,000+ yards of premium quality quilting cotton for this year's sale, and the best part...

$6.99 per yard!
Please mark your calendars for July 22nd - favorite bolts go very quickly! The sale will continue in the shop for about 2 weeks.

Are Masks Required at Cary Quilting Company?
At this time, we are encouraging mask use in the shop, but it is no longer required. Unvaccinated staff members are required to remain masked, and fully vaccinated staff members may choose what feels right for them. Mask use during classes is at the discretion of the instructor, and all groups renting the Meeting Center may make their own decisions.
