Michael used Astronomick filters, a ZWO AM5 mount and a ZWO ASI2600MM camera. This the same astro object we featured last week, although imaged through a different set of filters producing a differently coloured appearance. Astronomers will often use different filters to highlight features in various wavelengths. DWARF II Telescope for bird watching and for nature viewing- photographing and videoing wildlife has never been easierCaptured by a DWARF II Smart Telescope - some White Ibis birds enjoying the sunshine across the road from BINTEL. The yellow brackets around it are the DWARF's AI tracking system that keeps moving objects in the field of view while they're being recorded. The DWARF II Smart Telescope has quickly become a firm favourite here at BINTEL. While most folks see it as an astronomical telescope and low-cost imaging system, it's equally remarkable as a highly portable way to view and photograph nature. The compact DWARF II has two built-in cameras. They're roughly equivalent to a f/4.2 675mm telephoto lens and a f/2.4 48mm wide angle lens. The telephoto lens is significantly more powerful at capturing remote objects like birds than even the best phone cameras available today. While a DSLR camera with high-quality telephoto lens would provide better images than the DWARF II, such as system would be much more expensive, much larger and lack tracking capabilities. BINTEL suggests that for long-range bird of nature photography, the DWARF II Smart Telescope is the best value option available today. There are some great full-length videos now popping up on YouTube such as the one below. Click here to view the full video on YouTube. You can even easily take time lapse sequences with the DWARF II! At time of writing, we have a small number of DWARF II Smart Telescopes in stock at BINTEL, but these are likely to sell quickly. We're receiving regular shipments from of the DWARF II Smart Telescopes every week or so. If we have sold out, please place an order with us and we'll get one to you shortly. Highlights in the sky this week - Urgent meeting of the Global Astronomers CouncilThe GAC is holding an urgent meeting this Saturday 1/4/2023 to standardise the way meteors are described in media statements. You might have seen lots of articles in the news and online recently saying a meteor the size of this or that was whizzing by close to the Earth. To save public panic and confusion, astronomers are urgently meeting this morning to standardise the unit of measure they'll use when making media statements. The unit likely to be adapted will be the "Corgi". It's seen as friendly, and one people can commonly visualise. One sticking point seems to be the Americans are insisting on using the Imperial measure of the Welsh Corgi, whereas the rest of the world is adopting the Metric based, Pembroke Corgi. More soon. Next time...Bumper long weekend issue! More on dew control. How do we calculate the date of Easter. Plus galaxy season is on the way. And here's a teaser for a new gizmo arriving soon that will shake up the way we view small things. |
