Kiama Downs Dominates First Round of IRB SeriesThe first IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat) racing event in two years kicked off in perfect conditions at Terrigal over the weekend. Over 300 surf lifesavers from 17 clubs travelled to the Central Coast location for the first round of the 2021 Sharkskin NSW IRB Premiership Series. Entries Entries for Round 2 close Sunday 23 May at 11pm. Team Managers that have not yet registered their information are to do so ASAP via the Team Manager Register in order to receive all information regarding event meetings and competition draws. Officials The IRB Official Appointments for Round 2 have been finalised and uploaded to the event webpage. If you are still interested in officiating during the IRB Season, please email the SLSNSW Surf Sports team. Please note that to be eligible for the Officials gift, you will need to Officiate at all rounds including the State Championship Scrutineering Clubs that did not attend Round 1 but wish to compete in Round 2 must contact the SLSNSW Surf Sports Team by close of entries to arrange a scrutineering appointment prior to competing. Scrutineering will be available on Friday prior to competition from 2-4pm. Please ensure that technically competent representatives are present to disassemble and reassemble gear and equipment for scrutineering. This year surf clubs are encouraged to join in the 24-hour event on 14-15 August. Sign your club up now to be part of the event. It's a great opportunity to engage your community ahead of the new season and anyone can participate. Macquarie Sports ScholarshipsApplications are now open for the 2021 Macquarie Sports Scholarships. The unique scholarships are offered to elite sports men and women to help them achieve both their sporting and career goals. Applications close 5pm Friday, 4 June 2021.
