Now a nursing professor, Salami wants to give Black youth in Edmonton the same kind of inspiration and support she received by pairing teens with Black academics at UAlberta. Her research focuses on vaccine hesitancy, uptake, and safety, with an emphasis on supporting immunization best practices and policies. The UN established the Sustainable Development Goals to address these issues, but time is running out. The COVID-19 pandemic can have a significant impact on your mental health. Resources are available if you, or someone you know, are struggling or needs a little extra support. Students experience a variety of stressors and challenges that are particular to academic life. When considering these demands in a larger context (i.e. personal and work-life), mental health can become an area of struggle for many students. The mental well-being of students at the U of A is the responsibility of the whole community - all individuals, services, groups, and programs contribute to student mental health.
