BedMed Reaches a Milestone The BedMed Study team recently celebrated a major project milestone! They surpassed the number of participants randomized as compared to the European MAPEC Trial that BedMed is designed to replicate. BedMed aims to determine if bedtime antihypertensive medication dosing is in fact better than morning dosing as reported by the MAPEC Trial. BedMed is the largest Primary Care-based (that we know of) Randomized Controlled Trial that is non-industry funded.

BETTER Recognized in PMH Implementation Kit The Patient’s Medical Home (PMH) Implementation Kit, developed for Canadian Provinces by the College of Family Physicians of Canada in collaboration with other stakeholders, has identified the BETTER program as a primary care practice tool to help physicians and their teams move towards PMH principles by enhancing patient screening through evidence-based screening recommendations for chronic disease prevention and screening. Each Province has its own, individualized tool kit, and BETTER is recommended in all of
them. Click here to find a downloadable PDF versions of the toolkits.
New Alberta College of Family Physicians Research Webpage ACFP has launched a new webpage, Strengthening Research in Family Medicine, and invites researchers to share research project(s) by completing the brief submission form. Submissions will help ACFP create a page where members can not only
learn about the research happening in their community, but also connect with them to express their interest in participating. As this page becomes populated with information, ACFP will introduce a regular feature bullet in their eNews directing members to the site.
