Weekly Update 16 November 2021

Welcome to our new weekly update report. We want to keep you informed of our work and answer your questions. We'll include lodgement queue processing times and volumes.

This week

Sea freight queue

For this week, sea freight lodgement turnaround is estimated at 3 - 6 days.
 

On Monday 15 November, morning, the total sea freight queue (includes Australian lodgements) stood at 1280 lodgements and TET were processing lodgements due back Monday at 7:16am

Last week:  average turnaround of sea freight lodgement for first submissions was 29:23 hrs (previous week 30:33 hrs) and for second submissions 13:24 hrs (previous week 14:38 hrs)

 

Airfreight queue

For the coming week, air freight lodgement turnaround is estimated 3 - 10 hours

On Monday 15 November, morning,
there were 644 airfreight lodgements in the queue for processing and TET were processing those due back Monday at 7:38 am

 Last week:  average turnaround of air freight lodgement for first submissions was 10:29 hrs (previous week 10:04 hrs) and for second submissions 11:07 hrs (previous week 10:27 hrs)

 

Australia queue

On Monday 15 November, morning, there were 312 Australian specific lodgements, the team is processing consignments due back Monday at 7:16am

 Last week:

Average turnaround of air freight lodgement for first submissions was 9:15 hrs (previous week 8:43 hrs) and for second submissions 9:44 hrs (previous week 9:07 hrs).

Average turnaround of sea freight lodgement for first submissions was 24:47 hrs (previous week 23:14 hrs) and for second submissions 11:25 hrs (previous week 10:15 hrs)

BMSB Reminders

You are strongly encouraged to get your application for BMSB risk goods in as soon as you can- at least a week out from arrival or even immediately after departure if this is possible.

For:

  •  roro/ breakbulk VMP consignments ex Schedule 3 countries
  • containers that have been directed “Hold on Board” after the first submission

If a compliant BACC has not been processed 12hrs before arrival, MPI Port Staff at the relevant port will issue a Notice of Direction holding that consignment on board. This Notice will go the Vessel, the Vessel Agent and the Port Company and Stevedores.
