Pray Now, 2 April 2020 No images? Click here A liturgy for emergencyOur world is being shaken right now due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic. Plans and ways of life have been changed, but God is still in control. We are hearing from people all around the world who are sharing how God’s word has been their anchor in this storm. Alison Tute, who serves with her husband in Papua New Guinea (PNG), recently shared a liturgy that has helped her to focus on faith rather than fear. We hope it helps and blesses you too: A liturgy for moments of emergency (If you are sharing this with others, try having one person start and everyone join in with the parts in bold.) O God our rock, O Christ our king, O Holy Spirit, Be merciful, most merciful God. O God our rock, O Christ our king, O Holy Spirit, We need you now, most merciful God. Praise God that because we have access to his word we can remind ourselves of his faithfulness to us and presence with us. The main operations centre for Bible translation efforts in PNG is in Ukarumpa. Pray for the emotional and physical health of the whole community there. Pray that we can draw on the truth that God is ‘our refuge and strength’ and ‘our dwelling place’ (Psalm 46) during this challenging time. This weekPray for typesetting to begin for the Lunyole book of Psalms. The Lunyole Church in Uganda has been waiting excitedly for the Psalms to be translated.
