1. Shadesail
Your Committee is continuing to investigate options to complete the development of the area under the shade sail in front of courts 7-10.
2. Pool
After several discussions with Stonnington, as well as local and federal politicians, we are more optimistic that the pool will form part of EMTC’s redevelopment. We understand Council is poised to appoint an architect for the development which will get underway later this year. Whilst we don’t expect to see any physical signs of the development until next year, we will be undertaking several improvements to enhance the safety of the club over coming months. While we continue to advocate strongly for the pool to be reopened, it is unlikely to be available this season. There is an extensive list of requirements which we will need to action before meeting Council’s requirements, but thankfully having a lifeguard on duty is no longer one of them! On the list of issues which have been identified are fencing and secure access, upgrade to the pavement surrounding the pool, micro lab water testing, the implementation of a formal management plan, etc.
3. Member feedback/Strategic Plan
We have received around 30 responses to the Member Survey so far. We would love to hear from more of our members about what they would like to see around the club and better understand about what’s important to you. Already we’ve had some great suggestions we can act on - eg sparkling water in the vending machine. We are adding all suggestions to our list for review, so please let us know your thoughts.
As always, please feel free to send all feedback and questions to feedback@eastmalverntc.com.au
