New Zealand Immigration Update:Dependent income thresholds increasedUpdate The minimum income requirements for some visa categories have recently been increased. Why the change? INZ adjusts minimum income requirements annually. The purpose of these changes is to ensure that migrants will have enough money to support themselves and their dependents while in New Zealand. These increases were spurred by recent changes to Work and Income payment levels. What are the changes? 1. 1 June 2019: Samoan Quota Scheme and Pacific Access Category residence visa applicants will need to earn at least $38,577.76 if they have partners or dependent children. 2. 1 July 2019: Essential Skills and Religious Worker work visa holders will need to earn at least $43,322.76 to support dependent children for a visitor or student visa.
