U.K. Names Russian Spies and Denounces Moscow’s Sabotage Operations

Hello. The U.K. government fired a salvo against Russia’s secret services, naming 18 spies and sanctioning three Russian military intelligence units for their involvement in what it said was a widespread campaign to destabilize Ukraine and other European nations.

The U.K. said that the GRU military intelligence agency was behind cyberattacks aimed at Ukraine, as well as on U.K. telecom and energy infrastructure and other European targets. Read the full story.

Singapore under cyberattack: Singapore said it was battling a "serious" cyberattack against its critical infrastructure, attributing the hack to an espionage group that experts have linked to China. "I can say that it is serious and it is ongoing," Coordinating Minister for National Security K. Russian alcoholic drinks maker Novabev Group said a cyberattack disrupted tech systems at the company and its WineLab unit. Novabev said it refused the hackers' ransom demand but didn't say how much was requested.

Luxury retailer House of Dior began notifying an unspecified number of clients that their personal information, including in some cases Social Security numbers, was breached on Jan. 26, when a hacker got into a Dior database. The company said it discovered the intrusion on May 7. 

  • Dior is offering clients two years of free credit monitoring.
