What tastes like mutton but isn't mutton?

Call them shearwaters, yolla or moonbird, but they are more commonly known as muttonbird. Ever wondered how to prepare one for the table?

Then be sure to head to the Taste of Tasmania on Fri 30 December and seek out the Smeg Kitchen where you'll be in for a special treat!

Nathan Maynard, the talented playwright behind The Season, will be sharing his favourite recipe for muttonbird with celebrity host Maeve O’Meara.

Learn how muttonbird are harvested, prepared and cooked, and why Nathan has written a comic play centred around the Indigenous bird harvesting culture.

Muttonbird is on the menu and this is an opportunity not to be missed!

The daily presentations at the Smeg Kitchen are informative, fun and free! Be sure to check theTaste of Tasmania website for more information.
