Return to Tennis Update: 28 Sep 2021

Although tennis is back tomorrow, Wednesday, we will not be open first thing in the morning as we must wait for the DHHS Restrictions.  See Tennis Victoria's latest email yesterday afternoon.

Tennis Vic: https://www.tennis.com.au/vic/news-and-events/latest-covid-updates-for-victoria

We want to let everyone know we have always been actively working on getting open as soon as possible.

We know the general rules of Victoria but it is impossible to know the specific rules of Tennis due to the Government not releasing “Restricted Activity Directions” until late Tuesday night.  We don’t know if it is singles only, venue caps etc.

We are bound by Stonnington and Stonnington have been proactive and are ready for us to open as soon as Tennis Victoria provide the guidelines.

Unfortunately there is 100% chance of rain on Wednesday starting before dawn, with showers all day. It doesn't look great for Thursday either. The front gate will be locked if the courts are unplayable.

By the time the rain clears we should know what the restrictions are, and can open up the Court bookings.

Anyone who has Coaching with Futures Tennis Academy will be contacted directly by them. They will also not be starting until the restrictions are released.

GAS WORKS:
The Gas work along Moira/Dunlop Streets is still happening.
There may be road closures from the Ashburton side.  You can park around Francis St area and walk across the bridge (always check parking signs).
From the Moira St side you can courteously advise the traffic controllers you are heading to the Tennis Club/Park area and they will let you through if the road works permit.  Otherwise park in Darling Station carpark and walk across.

ADMIN OFFICE:
Lita/Deb will be in the Office for restricted hours during Monday-Friday if you wish to pay your Membership via credit card or cash. Please leave a message if there is no answer.
