Lift Urban Portland Michael Roberts Fridays. Fridays were Michael’s days at Preston’s Pantry. He had an immense amount of pride and dedication to the Friday pantry shift. Dear Neighbor,Lift Urban Portland lost a valuable teammate two weeks ago. Michael Roberts, a dedicated volunteer at Preston’s Pantry for over nine years, passed away on Wednesday, March 6 from aggressive prostate cancer. He poured his heart into his commitments and Lift Urban Portland was fortunate to have Michael choose us. His commitment to our mission was and will always be an inspiration. He was fiercely adamant about providing healthy, nutrient-dense items for our clients, advocating for their health. He treated clients with dignity and respect. His role at the pantry touched the lives of staff, volunteers, and clients. “Michael was always courteous, polite, accepting, and very helpful. I can look back and honestly say, ‘Our time together was a time well spent.’” Personally, I am grateful for all the lessons he taught me over the last four years I worked with him. We will all miss him and the passion that drove everything he did. Sincerely, Erin Goldwater |
