Vale Reg Wood: The Teacher

It is with great sadness Surf Life Saving NSW advises the passing of life member Reginald (Reg) Wood aged 94. A highly respected and passionate lifesaver and advocate for the movement, Reg played a number of integral roles within Surf Life Saving for 77 years.

Funeral details: 11am on Friday 19 March 2021, Thompson Street Community Hall, Sussex Inlet followed by a gathering of friends and family at Sussex Inlet Bowling Club.

Eight Straight Titles for Newport

The 2021 NSW Open Surf Life Saving Championships, proudly supported by Your local club, wrapped up at Swansea Belmont and Redhead SLSCs on Sunday. With Lifesaving events and the Surf Boat competition still to run, the sizable lead held by the Newport club will no doubt see them crowned NSW Champions yet again.

Nominations for SLSNSW Director Positions

SLSNSW is calling for nominations for Deputy President (Specified Director) and Director Position (Unspecified Director) for a three-year term. Candidates interested in nominating must complete and sign the nomination form and lodge it with their Branch by COB Wednesday, 31 March 2021, which is then due to be submitted to Steven Pearce, SLSNSW CEO, by COB Friday, 2 April 2021.

Community Education Focus Group

SLSNSW is seeking expressions of interest from male patrolling members aged 16-25 who would like to participate in a focus group that will assist in the development of a new young male-targeted program that aims to prevent risk-taking behaviour by young males around coastal areas. Grants & Fundraising

 

Grant funding is an ideal way to obtain equipment, infrastructure or program funding for your club. In support of SLSCs in NSW, SLSNSW provides a professional grant service at no fee to NSW SLSCs through the Surf Life Saving Foundation’s Grant Seeking Unit (GSU). The GSU is a national grant research and writing support unit for SLS entities across Australia.

Reporting to the Academy Business Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the sales team by providing excellent customer service to Academy clients, assisting with sales and marketing activities and other administrative support to enable the Academy Business Officers to service existing clients and take advantage of new business opportunities.
