This month, join us for a talk with new Australian author, Jackie Bailey! Jackie will introduce her debut novel The Eulogy; a beautiful and moving story of sisters and the love they share in the face of trauma.

If you are a budding author, get involved with the NaNoWriMo Write-In. Come to Parramatta Library every Thursday in November, where you will work towards completion of your own 50,000 word manuscript!

Are you over 55 years of age? Join us for a fun and hands on Tech Savvy Seniors program, that will improve your digital literacy skills and build your confidence to use computers, tablets and smartphones.

NaNoWriMo Write-In 

Would you like to write your own novel, but don't know where to start? Join us at Parramatta Library for the NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) challenge, where you will aim to write the first 50,000 words towards your novel! During November, we will hold workshops every Thursday so you can engage with other writers and feel inspired as you climb the mountain to the big 50K.

Introduction to Computers

In this workshop for seniors, at Parramatta Library, you will learn the basic skills to operate a computer, create and format documents, and locate information online. You will also learn to send emails, so you are able to easily stay connected with family and friends.

STEM Micro:bit for Autistic Teens 

Do you identify as being on the autism spectrum and love technologies? Join STEM expert Philip Mallon to learn how to program a Microbit as a clock and use it to effectively manage your time. Carers are welcome to attend. All materials will be provided for this free workshop.

 

IELTS Speaking and Listening Workshop

Join us at Parramatta Library to prepare for the IELTS test! In this workshop you will gain the confidence needed to understand the exam format and learn skills for speaking and listening. There will be example questions, hands-on activities and more.

Introduction to Social Media (in Hindi and English)

In this workshop for seniors at Parramatta Library, you will learn how to navigate social media sites, which include Facebook and Twitter.

Introduction to Tablets and iPads

Attend a session at Dundas Library to learn how to use a tablet or iPad that can be used to play games, send emails, search the internet and more. No technology experience necessary.

Job Search Workshop

In this workshop at Parramatta Library, you will learn how to write a resume, address selection criteria, and prepare for the all important job interview. Bring your current resume to get feedback from the presenter too. In partnership with Navitas.

Online banking (in Mandarin)

In this workshop for seniors, at Parramatta Library, you will learn how easy and convenient it is to shop and bank online. You will gain the confidence to manage your own finances online, by  learning to view statements, transfer money and other common banking tasks.

These locations include Epping Library, Dundas Library, Wentworth Point Community Centre and Library, and Parramatta Library .

Join us in November for the new exhibition 'All that glitches is not gold' an exhibition by Artist Celine Cheung in the Creative Space. This exhibition is a visual ballad of a family's migration, told through Gothic landscapes, liminal spaces and a touch of magical realism.
