Hello,

In 2002 I noticed that the fundraisers around me with
outstanding results used more specific stories when
they chatted to supporters, than people who got
merely ‘average’ or ‘good’ results.

My problem was I was not good at this. It was harder
than it looked. So in order to get more confident, I
enrolled for story-telling evening classes at an adult
education college called City Lit.

The techniques I learned from my tutor, herself a
professional story-teller, made an immediate impact
on my ability to help donors want to give. My
confidence and my results started to grow.

In this video clip, recorded at my Secrets of Successful
Fundraising course, I share two little-known techniques
you can apply to any spoken story to help your stories
connect, so that more donors want to give.

Cheers,

Rob Woods
