Moonbug Entertainment Ltd., a London- and Los Angeles-based provider of educational programming for children, picked up a $120 million investment and acquired two popular YouTube channels. The funding round was led by Goldman Sachs Growth Equity and Fertitta Capital, and included participation from Raine Group and Felix Capital. Nishi Somaiya, a partner at Goldman Sachs, will join Moonbug’s board.
DNA Script, a France- and South San Francisco, Calif.-based DNA synthesis startup, added $50 million in Series B funding, bringing the round total to $89 million. Casdin Capital led the investment, which included participation from Danaher Life Sciences, Agilent Technologies, M Ventures, LSP, Bpifrance Large Venture Fund and Illumina Ventures. Eli Casdin, founder and chief investment officer of Casdin Capital, will join the company’s board.
Chorus.ai, a San Francisco-based startup that uses artificial intelligence to analyze sales conversations, closed a $45 million Series C round. Georgian Partners led the investment, with participation from Emergence Capital, Redpoint Ventures and Sozo Ventures. Greg Holmes, former head of sales and corporate strategy at Zoom, joined the board.
True Link Financial, a San Francisco-based fintech startup providing services to seniors, people with disabilities and those recovering from addiction, raised $35 million in Series B financing led by Khosla Ventures and Centana Growth Partners. Tom Davis from Centana is joining the board.
Vico Therapeutics, a Dutch developer of RNA modulating therapies for rare neurological disorders, secured $31 million in Series A funding. Life Science Partners and Kurma Partners co-led the round, which included contributions from Pontifax, Polaris Partners, Pureos Bioventures and Idinvest Partners.
Instrumental Inc., a Palo Alto, Calif.-based company that uses artificial intelligence to help companies remotely do quality inspections in real time, secured $20 million in Series B funding. Canaan led the round, which included contributions from Eclipse Ventures, Root Ventures, Stanford StartX Fund and First Round Capital.
Ermetic Ltd., a Tel Aviv-based cloud access risk security provider, completed a $17.3 million Series A round. Accel led the investment, and was joined by Glilot Capital Partners, Norwest Venture Partners and Target Global. Andrei Brasoveanu, a partner at Accel, joined the board.
Buildots, a Tel Aviv- and London-based startup bringing artificial intelligence to construction management, landed $16 million in seed and Series A funding. TLV Partners led the rounds, with participation from Innogy Ventures, Tidhar Construction Group and others.
Wyze Labs Inc., a Seattle-based smart home device maker, added $15 million in new funding. Norwest Venture Partners led the investment, with American Family Ventures, Marcy Venture Partners and Amino Capital also participating.
Alydia Health, a Menlo Park, Calif.-based medical device company focused on preventing maternal morbidity and mortality caused by postpartum hemorrhage, raised $13.9 million in Series C financing. AXA Investment Managers through its Impact Investing Strategy led the round, with support from Global Health Investment Fund and Avestria Ventures. Zina Affas Besse, managing partner at Global Health Funds, will join the board. In addition to the funding, Alydia named Robert Binney as chief executive. He was previously chief commercial officer at Intersect ENT. Colby Holtshouse, previously the company’s interim chief executive and vice president of marketing, will assume the role of chief operating officer.
Cybellum, a Tel Aviv-based automotive cybersecurity risk assessment provider, secured $12 million in Series A funding. RSBG Ventures led the round, with participation from Blumberg Capital and Target Global.
Whistic, a Pleasant Grove, Utah-based vendor security platform, completed a $12 million Series A round. Emergence led the investment, with Gordon Ritter and Carlotta Siniscalco joining the board. Album VC and existing investors also participated in the funding.
