In August, Port Credit welcomes the Buskers to town,
The Jugglers, acrobats, magicians and clowns,
Will you be one, to get in on the fun?
Volunteer for Busker Fest, you won't regret it! Ask me how!
The Busker Fest Team is getting excited - the festival is less than 2 weeks away! Mayhem will abound on the streets of Port Credit the weekend of August 18-20.
Save the date - the Volunteer Orientation Session is this Wednesday, August 9 at 7:30 p.m., at Clarke Memorial Hall, 161 Lakeshore Road West (2 doors east of Mississauga Road on south side of Lakeshore): http://goo.gl/maps/duIuP
You will meet the Team and get an outline of the festival. We will have demonstrations of what you can expect as a volunteer.
The Logistics crew sets up and takes down the road barriers and all the equipment needed for each Pitch - tents, tables, chairs, etc. This is a very important part of the festival, as the equipment must be set up at the beginning of each day and torn down at the end of each day. The Logistics Managers will demonstrate the safest and most efficient way to assemble & disassemble the equipment.
The Pitch Ambassadors and Information Volunteers are a very important part of Busker Fest too! They are the 'face' of the festival, and they keep things going! Taking direction from the Pitch Captain, they interact with the public - answering questions, giving directions, updating the schedule on the whiteboard, making sure the show starts on time, and keeping the area clean and tidy. There are several Pitches at different locations with varying shift times. We need 2-3 Volunteers per Pitch, per shift. Or if you like to be mobile, we need 'wandering' Information volunteers, as well our Kids Zone will be a busy spot for kids and parents, and volunteers are needed to keep things running smoothly!
If you have any questions please contact Volunteer Coordinator Brenda Armstrong: volunteer@portcredit.com
Hope to see you at the meeting!
