ART & Technology Futures

You are invited to join us at the first ICT & Art Connect Event in London, on the 18th and 19th January 2014, focussing on exploring new ways of working with Art & Technology. This is one of several events taking place across Europe, to bring together artists and technologists (from all fields) to foster the development of new ideas, projects and directions. Previous events have taken place in Nantes, Vilnius and Brussels.

Please visit our ticketing page for the full event agenda, which includes:

  • global speakers on collaboration process in art and technology
  • discussions on co-creation processes and stating your views to shape future EU project funding
  • finding synergies with other practitioners with complementary skills in the arts/tech sector
  • exploring the cross-pollination of ideas and finding a partner to work with (bring your project ideas)
  • developing your project application for one of our funded residencies to seed your proposal
  • an evening of inspiring art/tech installations and performances.

On Day 2 a special afternoon worshop on Art & Technology Futures will be facilitated by the CRe-AM Initiative. Please select a separate ticket for this session.

Please BOOK YOUR TICKETS NOW as we only have a limited number of artist and technologist tickets for this event.

From all the consortium partners at the ICT & Art Connect Initiative, we wish you a Happy Holiday and look forward to seeing you on the online community and at our events in the New Year.

ABOUT:

JOIN our community & find a partner

Feeling the love at the ICT & Art Connect Hackathon, Nantes

If you haven't done so already, we invite you to join our unique EU-wide online artist & technologist community. Here you will meet a niche group of people from a wide variety of fields, looking for someone to work with. Could you be that person?

It would be wonderful if you could also forward this to artists and technologists that you know, so that we can expand the community to include a wider skills base in more EU locations.

APPLY for funded co-creation residencies

AR Sign Battle concept developed at the ICT & Art Connect event, Nantes

There are funded residencies available to help seed collaborative ideas with monthly deadlines until March 2014. Proposals can be submitted now. Winning residencies may attend the Brussels finale in May 2014.

The importance of the ICT & Art Connect Initiative

The ICT & Art Connect Initiative has been recognised by government and experts in art and technology. Neelie Kroes, VP of the EC, mentioned ICT & Art Connect as one of the great ideas she witnessed at ICT2013. We won an award for Best Exhibit at the ICT2013 conference as one of the most engaging exhibits. Robert Madelin, DG of the EC has called for artists and technologists to "help us make sense of/own our future". Our activities and participants have also been written about by Imperica.com, Design Week and our art-tech consortium, and participants alike, have been invited to present at LighthouseDorkbot, as well as Scottish and Brussels parliament. An exciting journey so far.

You may like to know that our events will feedback participants' needs and recommendations to the EC on the Future Emerging Technology (FET) investments needed, to enable you to further your art & ICT practice and collaborations across Europe.
