Don’t miss out! Throwback ThursdayDon Talbot (1933-2020)Legendary swimming coach, Don Talbot died this week in Queensland. Talbot grew up in Bankstown and attended Homebush Boys’ High School. After almost drowning as a child he took up swimming, becoming a teacher and swim coach. During the 1950s he discovered John and Ilsa Konrads, coaching them to swimming success. From 1968 to 1972 Talbot lived at Broughlea, 82 Abbotsford Road Homebush. Once considered the most prominent swim coach in the world, he coached the Australian swimming team at the Sydney Olympics, where they achieved 18 medals.
