Utilising the same equipment that their predecessors used eight decades ago, it will be as close as today’s lifesavers can get to what was a truly unique moment in Australian history. On that February 6th in 1938, almost 200 people were plucked from the ocean with 35 of those being unconscious and requiring CPR treatment. This weekend’s recreation takes place this Sunday 4 February between 3-4pm, with Bondi Surf Bathers extending an open invitation to anyone wishing to witness it. 2018 NSW State ChampionshipsA friendly reminder that entries for the 2018 State Age Championships and the Lifesaving Championships close next Monday 5 February, 2018.
