Click here 9 August 2018 Nominations open for the NTGPE AwardsDr Debbie Stach GP Registrar of the Year AwardThe Dr Debbie Stach GP Registrar of the Year Award was set up to celebrate NTGPE GP registrar, Dr Debbie Stach who tragically died in a car accident in 2004. It is awarded annually to a standout GP registrar who has an outstanding approach to medicine and a commitment to Indigenous health in the NT. The recipient will be awarded $10,000 at the NTGPE awards night in November. GP supervisors, GP registrars and colleagues can nominate. Please complete a nomination form describing in 500-words why the GP registrar is a good candidate for the Dr Debbie Stach GP Registrar of the Year award. Nominations close August 31, 2018. Learn more here. Adios NormieNTGPE said good bye to Normie Grogan this week. Normie has been with the company for the past three years as the AMSANT/NTGPE liaison officer. We wish Normie all the best in his new position as Indigenous Liaison Officer with the Royal Australian Air Force and look forward to seeing him around Darwin. ACRRM Academic Posts applications now openAcademic Posts are an AGPT training term where GP registrars learn academic skills through individualised learning plans with mentoring and support from NTGPE, universities and ACRRM. Academic Posts provide exposure to research and the academic environment and encourages registrars to incorporate academic work into their careers. ACRRM offers funding for five Academic Posts each year. The funding includes salary equivalent to a university lecturer (0.5 FTE), professional development funding and research funding. Farewell RLO superstarsOn Friday, August 2, NTGPE farewelled Registrar Liaison Officers (RLO) Dr Winnie Chen and Dr Georgina Taylor. Winnie and Georgina have done an incredible job and achieved many great outcomes in their time as RLOs. We thank them for all their hard work and dedication in the role and we know that you will join us in wishing them all the very best for the future. The organiser of the day, Dr Winnie Chen said, "GP registrars and their families do an amazing job of juggling work/exams with young children, being away from partners, relocating for remote terms and moving childcare/schools so it was nice to arrange a day out for them".
