Click here Issue #270 | 25 February 2021 New digital resource to help not-for-profits prosper in post-pandemic world If the COVID-19 pandemic delivered one telling insight into how NFPs operate, it was the importance of technology – across service delivery, evaluation of impact, organisational capability, and staff skills. Some organisations were able to pivot quickly to the new locked-down world. Others struggled to set up the technology for staff to work from home or change their service delivery to virtual channels. Now, help is at hand with the announcement that the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation and Gandel Philanthropy will fund Infoxchange’s one-stop shop Digital Transformation Hub to help develop digital capability across the sector. RESOURCESHow NFPs should engage with government Addressing social and environmental challenges often requires changing public policy and for many NFPs, government also provides a major source of funding. It’s why government relations is a key strategic area which NFP boards and management need to be focusing on. But government relations expert Neil Pharaoh says government doesn’t get the focus it deserves – “Often NFPs focus on government only when a policy or funding decision has gone against them.” In a newly released White Paper published by Perpetual, Neil looks at government relations strategy – and some essential components of an effective approach.
