June Newsletter - Our Year 2014 So Far

At Encompassed we have had a busy year so far and are planning an even busier 6 months to come! although work in and out of the office has been booming we've also found time to get involved in some other bits and peices and some well deserved down time. Hopefully you will enjoy reading our newsletter and seeing what we've been up to and what we have planned for the next 6 months!

Our New Office in Congresbury

We've moved to our new offices at the beginning of the year in order to accomodate our growing staff numbers - now at 16 members of staff we're busy with all of our training and surveying.

Our new office address is:

Office 1, Somerset Court, Brinsea Road, Congresbury, North Somerset, BS49 5JL

As well as our new office we also now have our own dedicated training room.

Portishead Town FC's Beer Festival

The team at Encompassed were pleased to support a local football club; Portishead Town FC's 3rd annual beer and cider festival in May, it was in order to raise funds for their next season. As seen in the photo above the turnout was great on the Saturday evening.

We sponsored local Cider "Wilkins" from Wedmore, Somerset and the event was a great success - everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and with a weekend packed full of activites including a bbq and lots of beer!

In a statement from one of the organisers "the weekend was a great success...want to make a big thank you to all of our sponsors".

There were many local beers and ciders available from lots of local breweries and cider farms, it was great to see such a selection of local products being supported by an equally sized selection of local companies.

Our Work With Local Charity

At Encompassed we're pleased to be able to help support a local charity based in Bristol

The Knowle West Health Association are a small charity that aims to promote good health and wellbeing for people in and around Knowle West in Bristol.

The Charity has a 1.3 acre allotment that they are currently running a coomunity food growing project on the land

"Our aim is to learn to grow great tasting local fruit and vegetables and enjoy eating them together straight off the plot." - kwha

One of the difficulties that they have is a lack of training for their staff and volunteers, as a result there are many tasks involved in the running of the allotment that have to be handed to a qualified member of staff in order to adhere to health and safety laws.

In order to help with this Encompassed were pleased to provide some of the team at the health association with manual handling training at their office in Bristol.

If you would like to become involved with the charity or to find out more you can contact them at: allotment.kwha@gmail.com or 0117 963 9569

Knowle West Health Associations let’s Grow Community Allotment has been awarded the RHS It’s Your Neighbourhood Award and a Community Achievement Award from the Bristol City Council for its continued effort in engaging local people with  its community allotment project.

Jabez Croney - Community development worker:

The training that Encompassed Ltd have recently provided us was exceptional.  All who attended gave feedback that:
• they had learnt something new
• wanted to share with colleagues what they had learnt
• enjoyed the delivery of the training
• gained more skills and knowledge
• and found the experience worthwhile

The training had a great impact on two of the participants in particular, both of whom are in their late teens.  They both have gained in confidence as a result of the training and want to continue to pursue more training in relation to their vocational path.
We are a small charity, and finding the funds to train our staff can be challenging.  We very much appreciate the support and free training that Encompassed Ltd have been able to provide.

Bristol Rugby - Semi-Final & Final

At Encompassed we were also pleased to be the match ball sponsors for both the semi-final and final matches for Bristol Rugby; the final being the final game at Bristol's memorial stadium after 93 years, unfortunately they lost 20-21 to London Welsh, but it was a great game and was a great experience to be the match ball sponsors.

Working with Weston College

As part of our growth efforts we have been working with Weston College in attempt to get some apprentices in the business as well as all of the new team members, we're still working on this at the moment but by the time of our next newsletter's release we will hopefully have some apprentices working with us, a full article has also been featured in the weston mercury and can be read here

"In North Somerset Feature"

In recognition of our hard work in the area and the growth that we've been achieving as a result. we've been approached by "In North Soemerset" - the local area's economic development service in order to help raise awareness of the great benefits of operating in North-Somerset as well as a providing case studies on some local success stories - we're pleased that we have been offered the privelidge of having a featured case study that will be in next month's release of their newsletter information of which can be found here so keep your eyes out for Encompassed's article coming soon!

Asbestos Awareness E-Learning

Encompassed have joined the digital revolution and are now offering asbestos awareness training online - this has now officially been recognised as a suitable means of learning by the HSE and as a result we're now able to offer a UKATA approved asbestos awareness course online; this reflects the way that our industry is changing and in the next couple of months we're hoping to launch a whole new e-learning site that will feature a wide selection of online courses and e-learning options.
