Our programs couldn’t exist without our amazing volunteers! This past year 265 members of our community donated more than 6,500 hours to pack food boxes, deliver groceries to our neighbors, and help folks “shop” at Preston’s Pantry. Volunteering is about more than just feeding our neighbors. It’s nourishing the mind, body, and soul.

New Adopt a Building Partnership!
We are pleased to announce that Lease Crutcher Lewis has adopted of the Fairfield Apartment building on SW Harvey Milk Street, where they will volunteer to deliver food directly to residents. We are proud to have them be part of our Adopt a Building program. Welcome to the Lift Urban Portland family!
Volunteer Spotlight: Pearl District Foot Patrol
The Pearl District Foot Patrol partners with Lift Urban Portland to deliver food boxes and to stock the Emergency Food Closet at Roselyn Apartments on NW 21st Avenue. Adopted by AWS Elemental in December 2017, the Roselyn is owned and operated by Northwest Housing Alternatives and provides homes to about 35 residents who make less than 50% of the Area Median Income.
“The Roselyn is a special community where everyone looks out for one another,” says Michael Roberts, Pearl District Foot Patrol Coordinator. “There is always cooperation and help from the residents. Someone magically appears ready to assist with deliveries every time we arrive. Once we start knocking on doors it all just comes together. The folks at the Roselyn couldn’t be more gracious and helpful in every way. It is a pleasure for us to be a part of the Adopt a Building Program to help our neighbors and thrive together.”
