Graphcore Ltd., a U.K.-based developer of chips optimized for running artificial-intelligence applications, secured $150 million in new funding. Existing backers including Merian Chrysalis joined new investors Baillie Gifford, Mayfair Equity Partners and M&G Investments in the round.
Plume, Palo Alto, Calif.-based smart home technology provider, closed an $85 million funding round consisting of $60 million in Series D equity and $25 million in debt. New investors Charter Communications, Qualcomm, Belkin and Service Electric Cablevision, along with existing backers Liberty Global Ventures and Shaw Communications, provided the equity portion. Debt came from Silicon Valley Bank and WestRiver Group. Andrew Ip from Charter joined Plume’s board.
HeadSpin, a Palo Alto, Calif.-based mobile performance platform, raised $60 million in Series C funding at a $1.16 billion valuation. Dell Technologies Capital and Iconiq Capital led the round, which included participation from Tiger Global Management, Kearny Jackson and Alpha Square Group. Palo Alto Networks’ Nikesh Arora joined Headspin’s board as chairman.
Molekule Inc., a San Francisco-based maker of air purification devices, completed a $58 million Series C round. RPS Ventures led the investment, which included participation from Founder’s Circle Capital, Foundry Group, Crosslink Capital, Uncork Capital and TransLink Capital.
Flock Freight, a Solana Beach, Calif.-based business-to-business freight logistics startup, picked up $50 million in Series B financing led by SignalFire and GLP Capital Partners.
Ripcord Inc., a Hayward, Calif.-based robotics digitization company, added $45 million in Series B2 funding. CDK Global led the round, with participation from investors including Kleiner Perkins, GV, Silicon Valley Bank, Lux Capital, Tyche Partners, Icon Ventures and Baidu.
Eaze Technologies Inc., a San Francisco-based cannabis delivery startup, landed a $35 million investment, including $20 million in Series D funding led by FoundersJT. Rose Capital and DCM provided $15 million in bridge financing. Additionally, the company promoted Megan Miller to chief operating officer and John Curtis to chief financial officer.
FogHorn Systems Inc., a Sunnyvale, Calif.-based developer of software for industrial and commercial internet of things applications, nabbed $25 million in Series C funding. LS Corp. led the round, which included contributions from Forte Ventures, Dell Technologies Capital, Intel Capital, Saudi Aramco Energy Ventures, Honeywell Ventures, GE Ventures, Robert Bosch Venture Capital, March Capital Partners and Darling Ventures.
NewLeaf Symbiotics Inc., a St. Louis-based agritech company, raised $20 million in Series D funding from Koch Agronomic Holdings, Leaps by Bayer, Otter Capital, S2G Ventures and RockPort Capital.
MycoWorks, a San Francisco-based maker of a nonplastic and nonanimal leather alternatives, grabbed $17 million in Series A financing. DCVC Bio led the investment, and was joined by Novo Holdings, 8VC, Future Tech Labs, AgFunder, Susa Ventures, Cthulhu Ventures and Wireframe Ventures.
Elementor, a Tel Aviv-based website-building platform, procured a $15 million investment from Lightspeed Venture Partners.
Nature's Toolbox Inc., a Santa Fe, N.M.-based biomanufacturing and bioinformatics startup, fetched a $13 million Series A round led by Anzu Partners. Charles McMillan joined the company’s board.
Mantl, a New York-based provider of account opening software for banks and credit unions, secured an $8 million Series A round. Point72 Ventures led the investment, with Endicott Group also contributing.
