Roy is a familiar face, having been involved with COLBEA for more than 20 years, variously as a tenant, non-executive director, sponsor and financial controller. A Principal of GCG Consulting, a firm specialising in M&A and Franchising, Roy brings a wealth of experience to the role of COLBEA Chairman; having qualified as a Chartered Accountant he enjoyed a post-qualification career in International Banking "Paid for travelling the world? - How good was that!" He was then appointed to head up Legal and General’s estate agency acquisition team following which he established GCG in 1990. Roy’s experiences add up to a career working with most of the major Financial Institutions with estate agency interests as well as many smaller firms both in the UK and overseas. How do you feel about being appointed as COLBEA's new Chairman? "This appointment is exciting for me, but there's still lots to do. Everyone always says they're 'passionate' about whatever they do, but almost my entire career's been start-ups in one way shape or form - so of course I'm passionate about it!” What is your vision for COLBEA? "COLBEA has a demonstrable outstanding track record of nurturing local start-ups since 1982.
